Welcome to
There is nothing lavish here, and we would rather not pretend otherwise. What there is: rooms that are properly clean, a front desk with a person behind it at three in the morning, and a pool that stays warm through a Minnesota February.
The Children's Discovery Museum and the Judy Garland Museum share a site a quarter of a mile up the road — five minutes on foot. Pokegama Lake and the Mississippi are a few minutes by car, and the Chippewa National Forest starts west of town.
Where you sleep
Four room types, all with the same in-room kit. What changes is the bed and the floor space.
The most-booked room in the building, and the one families ask for.
A king bed, a real desk and a chair worth sitting in.
The simplest room here, and the easiest on a short stay.
Why stay with us
No awards, no star ratings, no invented review scores. These are the reasons guests actually give.
Housekeeping daily, and a standard the front desk will happily be held to.
The front desk is staffed 24 hours. Late arrival, lost key, directions at midnight — there is a person.
Two per room, any size, no fee. Most places in town charge about $25 a night per dog.
Indoors, warm all winter, under a cedar ceiling with the daylight coming in.

Before you book
Yes — up to two dogs per room, any size, with no pet fee at all. We only ask that they are not left alone in a room. Service animals are always welcome, also at no charge.
Check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out is at 12:00 PM. The front desk is staffed 24 hours, so a late arrival is never a problem — call ahead and we will be expecting you.
Yes. A complimentary grab-and-go breakfast is set out every morning from 7:00 to 9:00 — something to take with you if you are leaving early rather than a sit-down meal.
There is an indoor pool and a hot tub, open year round, under a pitched cedar ceiling with windows on three sides. There is also a fitness centre on site.
A quarter of a mile up Highway 169 — about a five-minute walk. The Children's Discovery Museum shares the same site, so both are the same short walk from the front door.
Yes, self parking is free and there is room for RVs. Nothing needs to be booked in advance.
Yes — an accessible king room with a step-free layout. Please call the front desk before booking and we will confirm the exact bathroom configuration for you.
